Sabbath School

Sister: Sasha Khan-Bisram

South Brooklyn Seventh-day Adventist Church is a Bible-based church. We carry our Bibles, consult our Bibles, and study our Bibles. It’s more than an interest in a book, it’s a lifestyle. We follow a common curriculum and meet in small classes on Sabbaths to review and discuss our studies.

Our organized coursework comes from The Adult Sabbath School Bible Study Guides and the classes we attend are called Sabbath School. Every week, Seventh-day Adventists around the world use The Adult Sabbath School Bible Study Guides to study our Bibles and then discuss the brief lessons in Sabbath School. This promotes unity throughout the worldwide body of believers.

Since there are different age and maturity levels, we offer classes that cater to as many different capabilities as possible, including young adultyouth, and children. This means that those who are new to the Bible, or simply younger than other classmates, will not sit in a class with seasoned veterans. This allows the new believer to explore concepts and grow, while not being overshadowed by classmates with years of Bible familiarity. This formula makes for lively discussions in each class.

Our Sabbath School fellowship begins at 9:30 AM. We start with a short program in the sanctuary which consists of singing, inspirational thoughts, mission stories, and special features. After the opening program, adults divide into their separate classes and engage in lively, active discussions. A spokesperson will sum up the lesson’s main points at the end, followed by dismissal.
