Happy New Year From Community Service

Here's what's happening around South Brooklyn.

Happy New Year All: God continues to bless us for us to be a blessing!! We have another opportunity to help the residents of St John’s Family shelter. The Community Service Department has been in contact with the social worker and she thanked the church, greatly, for the Christmas donations of toys, personal care products, & clothes. However. the needs of the families remain steady.

The St. John’s Family Shelter has requested 50 children’s coats - We weren’t given an exact breakdown of the sizes & the need, but we found larger sizes are generally where the need is greatest.

The Community Service Dept will again be purchasing personal care products (toothpaste, women’s hygiene products, laundry detergent, etc.) however children’s coats (sizes 6-18) boys & girls are needed. An anonymous donor has already purchased & donated (16) children’s coats! Help us meet our goal of 50 coats!

New and/or gently used coats are welcomed, as well as monetary donations to purchase coat(s). We plan to deliver the coats to the shelter on Monday 1/18/21. Send us a message on this page if you have any questions for the Community Service Department.
